Analytical serviceGene Expression & Transcriptomics
Gene-expression analysis measures how a biological system responds at the transcriptional level: changes in the expression of selected genes, regulatory shifts in defined pathways and the molecular perturbation produced by an experimental treatment. A gene-expression change is an observation of response; it does not necessarily establish a direct mechanism of action.
Illustrative figure — the shape of the measurement, not a result.
Relative or absolute gene-expression measurements and transcriptional response.
Methodology classes
- Quantitative polymerase chain reaction with reverse-transcription workflows
- Comparative gene-expression analysis against reference genes and controls
- Array-based molecular investigation of selected pathways
- Nucleic-acid detection and quantification
Applicable sample categories
- Treated and control cell cultures
- Tissue-derived nucleic acid where supplied
- Time-course and concentration-series experiments
- Pathway-focused gene sets
Measurable parameters
- Relative expression (fold change) against defined references
- Absolute quantification where calibrated
- Pathway-level transcriptional response
- Concentration- and time-dependent regulation
Reporting outputs
- Expression tables with reference-gene normalization
- Pathway-level summaries
- Statistical treatment stated with the result
- Experimental design and controls documented
Fees for this service
Fees are per sample in pounds sterling, excluding VAT, and apply to the methods and scope described on the corresponding service page. Where no fee is listed, the investigation is scoped and quoted after a pre-submission enquiry. Multi-sample series and recurring programmes are priced on request.
| Gene expression & transcriptomics | Fee |
|---|---|
| Gene expression package — RNA isolation and QC, reverse transcription, qPCR: six samples, five genes | £1,752 per package |
| Additional sample–gene measurement | £176 each |
| Transcriptome sequencing — per sample, with comparative analysis | £299 per sample |
Describe the sample and the question.
A pre-submission enquiry establishes analytical suitability, experimental requirements, sample handling and reporting expectations before any material is sent.
